A recent survey of 202 British potato farmers, conducted by the Kleffmann Group, reports that 39% of the potato crop is grown on rented land and that 25% of their total arable land area (not just potato land note) is infested with Potato Cyst Nematodes (PCN) in GB. This survey covered 20% of all the total potato area grown.

Significant uptake of the use of pod sealants

A recent survey of 400 oilseed rape farmers in the UK, conducted by the Kleffmann Group, reports that four in five farmers had heard of the product group pod sealants and 73% of them have actually used one. Just 16% of farmers were unaware of these specialist inputs and 26% said that they had never used one.

Hybrid oilseed rape dominates across Europe

A recent survey of arable farmers, conducted by the Kleffmann Group, reports that 72% of farmers in the UK, nearly 3 in every four, intend to grow hybrid oilseed rape varieties in the future on their farm, whilst 16% said that they had no intention of doing so and 12% did not know. The survey interviewed 400 British farmers, all of whom grow rape.

Farmer's views on the neonicotinoid ban

The Kleffmann Group, partnered in the UK by Independent Business Resource Limited (IBR-Ltd), conducts on-going comprehensive surveys of European farmers, collecting quantitative and qualitative information related to crops and inputs. This most recent survey asked farmers about their past use of neonicotinoid seed treatments and what they thought about the ban of these effective insecticides.
